George Gibson

My first experience in the music field was in grade school when I won a talent show for singing. I took music and drama classes in High School. I have sung for a number of cover bands through the years. I got the idea to sing at weddings when my niece (who is a couple of years younger than me) asked to sing at her ceremony in 1994. Soon after that, a friend (who happened to be a DJ) suggested I get into DJing. Since I have always had an outgoing, fun personality and love to entertain people, I figured I’d give it a try. I found out quickly that I loved it, and have been doing it ever since. It also enables me to sing without relying on other band members. My musical tastes are pretty mainstream, however, I am well-versed in many different genres of music.

My emcee and entertainment style is best described as outgoing and interactive. I have always had a great sense of humor and the ability to connect with people. I have often been requested to sing at a reception. Much to my satisfaction – and my bride and groom’s- I’ve always received positive reaction from the guests. I’ve found that when I mix in singing a song here and there, it makes for a really memorable, interactive event. I have been pretty successful in my balance of singing and djing. A good entertainer can bring life to the party without actually being the life of the party.

I worked with Platinum DJ’s and Showtime DJs then I started my own company, Twilight Entertainment, in 1999.  I average about 45 events per year including holiday parties, birthday parties, corporate events. My specialty is in weddings, which comprise the vast majority of my events.

I recently got married myself (October 4, 2008) to the “other” love of my life, my bride Lisa. I say “other” because my first love (and with apologies to my darling wife) is baseball, especially the Phillies. We were introduced at our reception wearing Phillies jerseys and waving rally towels as the John Fogerty song “Centerfield” was played. That helped set the tone for a really fun night, one we -and our guests- will never forget (especially since they won the World Series a few weeks after we got married!).

I have always taken great pride in my attention to detail. Going through the planning process with my fiancé and seeing our reception exceed her expectations made me fully appreciate the importance of working with true wedding professionals. I derive great satisfaction and enjoyment from entertaining people. I take pride in my promptness, reliablity and professionalism. I work well with banquet staffs, other vendors and most importantly our clients. I will strive to make your wedding day as memorable to you as mine was to us.
